Tatsuya Demon Questions - Persona 2: Innocent Sin Guides
This page is designed to be an information dump about the Contact system in Persona 2: Innocent Sin. I had a small amount of fun with this system but ended up being very interested in the specifics of how it worked. Since there is so little information online about this system and my job as a guide writer is to break down different aspects of games and explain them... I seen a perfect opportunity with this game.
So, the first thing I would like to talk about on these pages is my experience with different types of questions. You may already know this part but there are some questions which are only asked by certain types of monsters and some questions which are only directed at certain characters. Different emotions typically have different questions/responses as well.
For example, the Angry emotion has many different questions that the monster can ask you and often times those questions end up being lose/lose situations. Where no matter what you answer there's always a chance that the monster is going to become more irate with you. This brings me to my next point and that's there are some questions that have set answers and set outcomes and other questions which are totally RNG.
Questions with set in stone answers will always give you the same outcome when you answer them a certain way. Other questions involve a lot of RNG and how the monster reacts to one of your answers varies and is left to chance. The difference between these two types of questions is partly what I made this guide to document. I also wanted to document which emotions the questions with set in stone answers raised.
Like I said at the top of this guide, I designed it to mostly be an information dump. I took screenshots of almost every question I got from demons in this game and I sorted them based on arbitrary categories that I think they belong in. Below each screenshot you'll find information about this question that I learned through my days of experimentation and trial/error. Hopefully this information helps some of you guys out there!

I think the only time I have ever seen this dialogue prompt is when I took this picture. Apparently it happens very rarely when doing Tatsuya's "Do Impressions" conversation choice. For me, the first two options made Empusa Happy but choosing the third option, "You." it made her Scared.

You will occasionally get this question from monsters when you choose Tatsuya's Discuss Manliness dialogue option. In my experience there is no correct answer to this question and each response has some level of RNG behind it. Usually I always choose option #1, A man must be strong. and about 40% of the time my answer is rejected.
I have tried to answer the question differently depending on the monster I am talking to but it doesn't seem to make any difference.

I am not sure if only Tatsuya gets this question or not, I rarely ever see it asked. However, my advice is to always pick I can't tell as your answer, it'll typically raise Happy and end the questions from the monster. Whenever I answer Yes. the monster tells me I am lying and he gets Angry with me.

This question has set in stone answers based on my own experience. Whenever I am asked this question I always pick the answer that includes my character's name. In this instance it's #1 which will say Tatsuya for you or whatever you named your character. Lying about your name or saying it isn't worth knowing will very often only upset the demon.

If I had to guess this question is entirely RNG based. Any time I answer in an affirmative with Sure you are. the monster will have a chance of rejecting it and telling you that you're lying. If you say No, you're not then he will get upset about you calling him ugly. It's a lose/lose situation no matter what you answer.

This entire question is RNG, there is a chance the monster will accept your answer and the Happy/Eager emotions will increase or he'll reject your answer and Angry/Scared will increase. If I had to pick an answer that I had the most luck with it's probably World domination. Any time I pick anything involving peace it seems that the Demons reject it 100% of the time.

Occasionally you'll get asked this question when using Death Stare on Tatsuya. From my experimentation the best way to respond is with Because you're rare. Monsters typically accept this answer, though I believe there is still a certain amount of RNG involved. Almost every time I tell the monster that they're cute they reject my answer.
