Squall Card - FF8 Guide

Location: Ragnarok (Late Disc 3)
Region: Esthar

You can only obtain the Squall Card for a very brief period of time on Disc 3. After you visit Esthar and speak with Laguna at the end of the disc he'll come onboard the Ragnarok with you and your crew. Once you complete/visit Lunatic Pandora, however, he'll leave the Ragnarok.

Outside of playing Laguna in a game of Cards on the Ragnarok during Disc 3; the only other way for you to obtain this card is by completing the Card Club Side Quest prior to completing Disc 3. If you do this then you'll be able to play members of the Card Club Group onboard the Ragnarok during Disc 4 and win almost any Rare Card in the game from them.

You can Card Mod the Squall Card into 3 Three Star items. Three Star can teach a GF the Expendx3-1 Ability which means that when you're under the effect of Triple you'll only consume a single spell, but still cast three spells. For those of you who actually consume their stocks of spells and cast, this ability is insanely useful for you.

The only GF that learns Expendx3-1 naturally is Eden, so you'll only have to consume two of these items in order to have this ability on your whole party. The alternative route is to turn the Three Stars items into Triple magic using Time Mag-RF.
