Basic Chocobo Forest - FF8 Guide

The Basic Chocobo Forest can be found just south of the small island with Shumi Village on it. I had a lot of trouble locating this one but it's actually right off the coast and not too difficult to find. Once inside you'll want to use your ChocoZiner just above the tree's shadow that cuts diagonally across the entire area, as shown in the screenshot below.

Three Chicobos will fall down from the tree canopy. For the next location, take a few steps to the south just under the tree's shadow and use the ChocoZiner there. This will cause two of the Chicobos to fly back up into the trees, talk to the third one to summon the mother Chocobo.

All that's left for you to grab here is the Flare Stone, it's found on the left side of the screen partly in the shadowed area. Position Squall behind the sapling in the same location I am standing in the screenshot below. That's all there is to this Chocobo Forest, once you've got the Flare Stone you can leave.
