Final Fantasy VII Guides and Walkthroughs

Final Fantasy VII is regarded by many as the best game of all time, I count myself as one of those people. I hold very cherished memories of this game from growing up and playing it again 20 years later I can say that it still held up to its former glory. The story of this game is so compelling and the Materia system keeps you interested and immersed in the battles, even for people who don't like turn based combat.

Ultimate Weapon Guides

As with most Final Fantasy games, 7 is no exception in that each character has an Ultimate Weapon. Every Ultimate Weapon in FF7 uses a different damage formula to calculate damage and it has 6 Materia slots, all paired in twos. Most of these weapons are easy to acquire but some are the result of quests. The biggest downside to these weapons is they have no Materia Growth on them.

All of the Materia Combinations + The Best Materia Combinatons

I spent hours researching Materia Combinations, reading forum posts and testing different combinations in game to make sure they worked and experimenting with my own combinations. This guide is a culmination of that effort, all I learned from it - what Materias combine with which and what the best combinations I have found are.

Chocobo Breeding Side Quest

Gold Chocobo Acquired

Breeding Chocobos is probably the main side quest of Final Fantasy 7 that everyone will remember. The Chocobos that you breed can be used for racing in the Gold Saucer as well as for other side quests during the game.

How to Acquire Master Magic, Command and Summon Materia

In Final Fantasy 7 if you level up all of the Magic, Command or Summon Materia you are able to visit the Huge Materia you collected on Disc 2 in Cosmo Canyon for a Master Materia. A Master Materia will allow you to use the abilities from every Materia used in creating it - while only taking up a single Materia slot.

Kalm Traveler and Emerald + Ruby Weapon

Even though Sephiroth is the final boss of Final Fantasy 7, he's not the most difficult boss. In the ocean you can find the Emerald Weapon and in the desert around Gold Saucer you'll find Ruby Weapon. These two enemies are the hardest bosses in the entire game and they're also involved in the Kalm Traveler Side Quest.

Unlockable Characters

There are two characters that you can recruit into your party throughout FF7, Yuffie and Vincent. Technically you can go through the whole game without getting either to join your party but they play an important role to Final Fantasy 7's story... In the grand scheme, Vincent gets his own spin off (Dirge of Cerberus) and Yuffie is involved in a few side quests throughout 7 and arguably gets some of the funniest dialogue in the game.
