Harvest Moon Magical Melody - Land Guide
The ability to purchase and own land is new in Magical Melody and is honestly an amazing feature. When you first start the game you're given an option to pick the location of your house. At any point after you start playing the game you'll be able to change the location of your house by talking to Woody, the carpenter. You'll need at least two hearts with the Mayor to purchase land as well as some hearts with Woody. If you just talk to Woody and Theodore everyday it'll be enough to get them where you want them by the time you go to purchase land.
You can purchase just about any plot of land in the whole village you'd like except for one that is already or going to be occupied by a resident. Once you own a piece of land you are allowed to build on it as well as throw away trash on it without being penalized. You can grow crops on land you don't own, however, if you discard weeds on that same land villagers will like you less. That's why it's better to only grow on land you own.
Raising hearts with the people you need can be a bit tedious if you don't realize it's required until you wish to purchase land. If you start right away raising Theodore's heart level is actually pretty easy since he likes Potatoes and you can grow them in Spring. Woody is pretty easy too since he likes ... Branches... yea pretty basic. Here is it in different format, a bit easier on the eyes.
