Metro 2033 Redux: Walkthrough - Chapter 3
This page includes walkthroughs for every mission in Chapter 3 of Metro 2033 Redux. My guide will provide you with videos for each mission along with a written guide to explain where every Diary and Moral Point you can find is. In order to get the Enlightened Ending you'll need to beat the game with 50+ Moral Points; this means being stealthy on most missions and avoiding killing humans.
My videos don't take the stealthy route through each mission since that would take much longer and the path we all use will be different while stealth. They will show you where all the Safe Keys and Safes are found and how to complete the mission. My written walkthrough on the other hand, will include everything. I provide you with multiple strategies on some missions (like the Library) and additional videos to show you where certain easter eggs are (like on the Front Line mission).
If you'd like to skip ahead to a certain chapter, follow the link below. My final note to you involves the ingame Compass. If you ever get lost take out your Compass and follow the arrow; this will help you get through the mission.

The first mission of Chapter 3 is pretty straight forward. You'll start by grabbing Bourbon's AK and then you'll proceed to clear the entire station of enemies. If you want Moral Points then you should not be killing any humans! Every human you kill is going to be a lost Moral Point so you'll want to use non-lethal take downs only.
Exit the vents that you start in to the right and then take two lefts to find a room with a Diary. Make your way through the bandits in search of Bourbon, if you get lost and need help navigating bring out your Compass/Ledger by holding the appropriate button, it's going to be different depending on your Console/Controller and Settings.
In the second area with enemies you'll find a crate maze on the left. Inside of this crate maze you can get another Moral Point by smoking the hookah found in here. The affects of the hookah will wear off quick so don't worry too much about it. Keep following your Compass and you will eventually find Bourbon in the same room as the boss. There will be a fight and after it's done you'll meet someone whose in both this game and the next - Khan.
Tip: Hold down F to take out your Universal Charger, this will allow you to recharge your batteries.

Ghosts is one of the more boring missions in this game since the entire thing is scripted and you're stuck moving at Khan's pace. This mission is designed to increase the tension and to educate you about some of the supernatural phenomenon that happens down here. Listen to Khan and his warnings throughout this level because if you don't, you'll end up dead.
At the start of this mission Khan will encourage you to listen to the pipes. We did this earlier in the game with Bourbon too, you can do it again here for a Moral Point. Once you hear children's laughter you'll earn the Moral Point, sticking around any longer will get you hurt. You'll earn another Moral Point if you let the pipe hurt you (from what I read). Follow Khan to the train wreck and search the seat on the right for a Diary.
When Khan stops moving and talking on the train that is your queue to burn the cobwebs in front of him. Take out your lighter and walk into the cobwebs to burn them. Don't walk in too far though, just enough to light them. Follow Khan out of the train and hug the right wall, he'll tell you to get against this wall as well to avoid an incoming 'ghost train'. Much like many of the other supernatural stuff during this mission, if the train hits you - it's game over.
The next part of the tunnel requires you to follow Khan as he walks and prays through some ghosts of soldiers. Follow him closely during this part and when you get through to the other side. When he tells Artyom that he was the only soldier to survive you'll gain a Moral Point. Eventually you will reach a room that has a ton of green glowing mushrooms. Look in this room for a body in the corner by some barrels, you'll get a Moral Point when you approach it.
Tip: Try the Shambler Shotgun against Nosalis and other mutants, I find this to be the most effective weapon. Revolver is good too if you can score consistent head shots with it.
In the very next room after finding the body you'll be ambushed by Nosalis. Remember that if you're low on ammo you can let Khan deal with all of the enemies; just run around as he shoots! Search the side room that the Nosalis burst out of and you'll find a Safe Key. The safe that this opens is found in the room you got ambushed in (so in other words the room next to it).
Follow Khan again and he will lead you through some more areas until you eventually reach some tunnels again. Inside here you'll need to follow his instructions closely if you want some Moral Points. When you see the Anomaly and Khan tells you to stop moving - stop. Don't move until you get the Moral Point and he starts talking again.
Continue down the tunnel a little bit more and you'll hear a Nosalis growl along with another Anomaly moving. Don't move until you gain another Moral Point (when Khan starts talking again that is your queue that you can move). We're back to following Khan again, he'll lead you to an area with lots of bodies where he will curse and then you'll be attacked by Nosalis.
Much like before, if you'd like to conserve ammo let Khan handle these. After taking out a lot of Nosalis an Anomaly will swoop in to help you out, let it handle what remains. Before you follow Khan again go down the tunnel that the Anomaly killed all the Nosalis in, search the body in the back for a Moral Point.
Jump into the train car and follow Khan, on the otherside you'll want to explore the tunnel straight ahead for another Moral Point. Return to Khan and before you get on the rail car hug the left side of the wall and look for a wicker basket. Next to the basket is an arm and a Diary; once you have this you can board the rail car to end this mission.

You will begin this mission by following Khan to a group of survivors. They will ask you for help and Khan will give a talk, stay here and listen to Khan for a Moral Point. If you need ammo search the area behind this group for a cache. For this mission my advice to you is pull out the Compass and use that for directions and/or watch my video walkthrough first.
The airlock should be taken care of first since it's close and that will stop half the enemies from spawning. Down the hall from the group of survivors and up the stairs is where you'll find the Airlock Objective. There are grenades on the pillars that you can ignite, when they explode the airlock gate will collapse and no more Nosalis can get inside from there.
Instead of lighting the grenades on the pillars you can always throw your own grenade instead. This will blow the grenades up and close the airlock without you having to do the lighting animation which makes you vulnerable to attack. Before you leave this area pick up the Diary near the center pillar.
When you're done with the airlock go down the tunnel on this side to find the dead Demolition Squad. The irony of this mission is the Demolition Squad is found dead in the tunnel on the right and their target is inside the tunnel on the left. You are told at the start of this mission that they died en route to their target, but apparently they got pretty lost...
Search the Demo Squad's corpses and you will find the explosives that we need (it's basically a can of fuel); take this to the tunnel on the other side. If you get lost follow the Compass, that will point you in the right direction. Nosalis will also spawn and come out of this tunnel endlessly until you blow it up. You'll need to visit the far end of the tunnel where the Nosalis are spawning from, only at this location can you place the bomb and make it all go boom.
I recommend you watch my video of this mission because it will make things easier to know where you're going before you do this part. You're under a lot of pressure with 5 Nosalis at a time spawning to attack you, it doesn't really give you much time to think. Once you blow up the tunnel and close the airlock you'll return to Khan and follow him to the next mission.

When this mission begins follow the linear path to a gate, this will trigger a scene. Keep following the path and you'll make your way into a town, At the start of this mission you will follow the voices of someone arguing - when you enter the room you'll be immediately arrested. The next scene will be a chase, you'll have to follow the directions of the person you're with to complete it.
It's pretty easy, at the end you'll meet the next person who helps us, Andrew the Blacksmith. When the introductory scene is finished grab the Diary in Andrew's house and then hit up the shops in town and buy whatever you need or want. A new weapon is for sale here, the Helsing gun. Once you're done visit Andrew and his friends, they'll tell you to jump into a hole.
Grab the Diary inside of the hole then climb the ladder and cling to the bottom of the railcar. There will be a long scene after which this chapter will be complete. If you get lost in town don't forget to use your Compass!
