Under the Labyrinth - Act 1 Story Quest
Under the Labyrinth is the seventh main quest in Act 1 of Titan Quest. Much like almost all of the previous quests this one will begin automatically after you complete The Order of Prometheus by speaking with Phaedrus. For the first part of this quest you'll need to speak with Feiyan (optional) then sail to Knossus by speaking to the NPC next to her.
In the Village of Herakleion you'll find a Portal pad as well as two available Side Quests, the last two in Act 1. I'd recommend doing both of these while you're traveling to our next destination, they both take place in the same area of Triton Ridge.
Side Quests In Area:
Xanthippus the Healer (Tritons Ridge)
The Undead Tyrant (Tritons Ridge)
Shortly after making it through Triton Ridge you'll come across Knossus Palace. There will be tons of undead enemies here mixed in with the occasional pack of construct enemies. On Epic and Legendary difficulties you will find Talos outside the entrance to the Minoan Labyrinth, he's a very tough construct boss that can be completely skipped if you don't want to bother with him.
As for the Minoan Labyrinth, this dungeon is by far the most confusing dungeon in the entire game because the ingame map is (purposefully?) confusing. Below are two player created maps which will help you find your way through this dungeon as well as a video I created that will walk you through the dungeon as well. Full credit goes to whomever made these pictures; click to enlarge them.
Thanks to Gamebanshee for designing such a great map!
Still need help navigating through the Minoan Labyrinth? Check out my Video Guide on how to get through the Minoan Labyrinth. At the end of the Labyrinth you'll find a closed door, on the otherside of it will be the first of two bosses, the Minotaur Lord (pictured below).
The Minotaur Lord can be a very difficult fight depending on what your build is. It's advised to not engage with him in melee combat as he has the Onslaught ability. This will increase his damage as well as his resists and slow you/reduce your Defensive Ability. Each weapon swing will stack this ability, you can tell it is stacking based on the size/density of the circle underneath him. If it becomes a large solid circle it's best to kite him around for a bit as you wait for some charges of Onslaught to start fading.
It's also recommended that you take out some of the Blade Traps in this room or fight the Minotaur Lord in a part of the room where the traps are unable to hit you. Last but not least, if you're still struggling with this boss I would recommend trying to equip some gear with Physical Resistance on it.
Once the Minotaur Lord is defeated go down into the next room where you'll find Megalesios ~ Telkine. This is the final boss of Act 1 and arguably much easier than the Minotaur Lord.
When you first engage this boss he will seal himself off with a wall of light and activate the 4 statues in the room. A tip for this part is to stand next to a pair of statues instead of in the middle of the room. Only the pair you are close to will agro you which means you'll only have to fight 2 statues at a time instead of all 4.
After all 4 statues are dead or if you've taken too long to defeat them the Telkine will destroy the conduit and drop his protective barrier. Megalesios has rather basic attacks, below is a list of all the attacks you should expect him to use throughout the fight.
Mind Control: Deals lightning damage and Mind Controls any pets who are near him.
Ranged Vitality Disrupt: Slow moving projectile that will disrupt you if it hits you and deals Vitality damage. This is the primary attack he'll use against you if you are ranged.
Spectral Blast: Short range Lightning attack; he'll use this if you get close enough to him to melee.
Summon Limos: Megalesios will create two Limos which will use Life Leech abilities on you and your allies that return HP to Megalesios.
Thunderball: The same skill from the Storm Mastery tree. Deals Lightning Damage. Megalesios has the synergy from the Storm Mastery tree too, Concussive Blast.
If you're struggling with this boss I would recommend boosting your Vitality and/or Lightning Resistance. After you've defeated Megalesios you'll want to speak with Kyros who walks through the door at the back of the room. This will complete the quest, get you another Inventory Slot as a reward if you're playing on Normal and start the first quest of Act 2, The Blindness of the Gods.
Note: Megalesios is one of the more popular bosses to farm in Act 1. If you'd like to learn more about this farming location check out my Act 1 Megalesios Telkine Farming Guide.
