Guild Wars 2 Farming Locations

Farming is one of the most common activities participated in by all players once you reach max level in almost any MMO. If you're new to MMOs or the concept of Farming really all it is, is you do the same thing over and over again slowly but surely acquiring materials for whatever it is you're farming for. In Guild Wars 2 the things players will most commonly be farming for are gold and Tradeskill Materials, which usually both go hand in hand. There are a few major differences when farming in Guild Wars 2 though; they are as follows.

Gw2 farming is so much different than most other games out there for two major reasons. The first reason is you don't have to level up any gathering skills or professions. In Gw2 all you need to do is buy a Sickle, Logging Axe and a Mining Pick from any vendor and equip them. After doing this you can mine all of the nodes in your level range. The second big difference is when you backtrack or enter lower level content in Gw2 you are automatically lowered to the highest level they let enter that part of the zone or participate in that quest.

While your higher level gear, weapons and amount of skills/available skills/trait points & hero points all play a major role in how fast you can kill the lower level stuff it still makes it much harder being around the mobs level. Whereas in other MMO games you're able to backtrack and own 400 mobs at once in lower level areas. Those are the two major differences that come to mind that set Gw2 apart from the rest.

Important: It is extremely important to remember that a lot of spawn locations for nodes such as Orichalcum Ore, Ancient Wood, Omnomberry and other popular farming materials are constantly changing. While my map might say there are X amount of an item somewhere this may not be the case this week. Still, follow these routes I made and you'll get just as much stuff as you would if everything was "in place". Also this page starts with the Level 80 Farming Locations since they are the most popular ones. The lower level farming locations can be found further down the page.
